We left you last with some of amazing shots of Yosemite and thought we couldn’t get much luckier than that. We were wrong!
On Saturday we were headed back out to the coast, we worked our way from Campbell, past Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel down to Big Sur. Big Sur is not really a city or even a town, it is more so a strip of coastline that just makes your jaw drop at every turn. We came across the famous Bixby Bridge, which is a known landmark bridge that usually comes up when researching Big Sur or the Pacific Coast Highway.
For this evenings resting spot, we were headed up to Prewitt Ridge Campground, which is located about 15 or so miles off the highway, up a random pavement/dirt road. With lots of twists and turns we were not fully aware of where we were headed. A friend from Facebook had posted some amazing sunset photos from a camping trip in Big Sur. I reached out to her to get the goods on this place and I am so thankful we did. A HUGE Thanks goes out to Andrea Palmer for this!
This dry (and Free :)) campsite was located on the top of a ridge with an amazing view out over the ocean and the Big Sur coastline. To be honest I don’t know if words can describe the beauty that set in when the sun started to go down. Thankfully our lovely on staff/trip photographer got a couple good shots in
As great as the sunset was, the stars above were just as amazing. Sadly a little weather rolled in, so we tucked ourselves into bed while the rain started to come down. Being up so high in the sky, it only makes sense that you are up with the sun. But this view is not a hard thing to wake up to by any means!
Stay tuned as we are headed back up the coast to check out the towns of Monterey and Carmel-by-the-sea!
Until Next Time!
