2017 was an incredibly challenging, amazing, stressful, relaxing year:

We got married.
We quit our jobs (and got new ones).
We moved provinces.
We bought a house.
Tracy Graduated University, and was accepted into the CPA program.
We traveled all over Western Canada.
We spent our first Holidays together.
We paddled, hiked, biked, and camped through sun, rain, and snow.

We also tested the bounds of our patience with, and knowledge of each other as most of these activities often came with significant stressors:

We lived for months without a real home.
We spent weeks and weeks apart, right after getting married.
We made just about everything for our wedding from scratch.
We were evacuated from our honeymoon due to wildfire.
We spent a few months unemployed.
We left many friends, family, and relationships back in Alberta.

That being said, we’re unbelievably grateful for the support of friends and family, for the things we we’re lucky enough to have been able to see and do, and for our new home on the West Coast. We’ve set our sights on an incredible 2018 year, and it’s certainly a mixed blessing to let 2017 go. Good riddance, and thanks, 2017. You were a hell of a ride.

Until next time,
-Rod, for Team Avery
